2Beeps riffs on Dionne Warwick’s “That’s What Friends Are For”

I’m excited to announce I’ll be performing at the experimental audio and video jam Share this Sunday August 17th at 10pm sharp. Share is located in the Old American Can Factory on 3rd Ave. and 3rd St. in Brooklyn, right next to the Whole Foods. This event is FREE. Expect an intimate atmosphere with people making strange music and noises before and after I play. For this performance I will be giving homage to the 1985 Dionne Warwick hit “That’s What Friends Are For.” Using numerous covers from youtube, audio recordings related to friendship, combined with my own sonic (and visual?) interpretations, I will build an “audio shrine” to this quintessential 80’s classic, as well as to the concept of friendship in general. To help get into the spirit of the song, I encourage those attending to bring along a friend. Here’s more info about the event and about Share. http://www.share.dj/share/event_info.php?eventID=1005
